Ad Hoc Committee on Review and Reform (AHCRR)

The Ad Hoc Committee on Review and Reform (AHCRR) within the Kimberley Process was established to enhance the operational effectiveness and governance of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS).

Guided by the 2022 Administrative Decisions, the AHCRR’s mandate involves reviewing the current KPCS framework, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing reforms to strengthen its capacity to prevent the trade in conflict diamonds.

This committee plays a pivotal role in ensuring the KPCS remains adaptable to emerging challenges and continues its commitment to conflict-free diamond trade practices. Operating on a six-year cycle, the AHCRR is set to complete its latest work cycle in 2024, focusing on key areas such as the definition, the Core Document, Compliance and governance, and Technical Assistance on implementation of the KPCS.
